At 30 years old, I ran my first ever race today...the Fiddler's 5k.
My time was 29:49. It was a difficult course with a lot of hills.
Here's some pics.
Coming across the finish line...
Luke was my biggest fan. He was waiting for me just past the one mile mark and then again at the finish line...
This is the group of guys from the church who ran the 5k...

good work man, now that I know you can keep up, we'll have to run one together. Later...
Chip
Congratulations. I doubt you finished first, but I really hope none of those guys in the pic beat you, you young whippersnapper.
I beat all the other guys in the picture, but they were all trying to beat me b/c I told the church the week before that my goal for the race was just to beat all the guys that were older than me :)
Keith...did your parents tell you that we saw them at the Jamboree???
Word. They said you did a mean buck dance to "Old Joe Clark."*
* not really.
I'd like to see Brett join you next year. :)
Yeah, I tried to get him to run this year but he wouldn't. He said something about the shame of losing to guys in their 50's.
